Mission and governance
The ACCN’s mission
The Association of National Choreographic Centres (ACCN) was founded in Caen, France, in 1995.
It brings together all 19 National Choreographic Centres (CCN).
The ACCN aims to organise moments of exchange and discussion among the teams of national choreographic centres, focusing on the missions entrusted by the State and local authorities: creation, dissemination, company hosting and residencies, choreographic development, training, legacy, and even programming.
This approach is meant to encourage a shift in public policies to support live performance and foster constant dialogue among all arts and culture stakeholders.
The ACCN also acts as an information-sharing platform for all its members, including public partners, like the Direction Générale de la Création Artistique (DGCA, General Direction of Artistic Creation), from the Ministry of Culture.
The ACCN also strives to enhance the visibility of choreographers and directors, ensuring that their commitments are met.
The ACCN relies on its members’ fees and the financial support by the Ministry of Culture, the DGCA and the Délégation de la Danse.
