Creation(s)
The National Choreographic Centres have one main mission: to ensure that choreographic artists can create their work.
By entrusting the management of these centres to choreographic artists themselves, the State and local authorities ensure the development, continuity and growth of their artistic trajectories, by providing them with continuous resources and venues.
Studios as well as administrative and technical teams also support the creation process.
From neoclassical to contemporary movements and hip-hop aesthetics, with or without full-time dancers in the five ballets, the CCNs have been providing creative tools that lead to research, inventiveness and the development of a choreographic lexicon. This process ultimately results in new creations and the reinterpretation of works from the existing repertoire.
Thanks to such artistic independence, the State and local authorities ensure a genuine shift in the art, through the consolidation and development of repertoires. This, in turn, actively contributes to diversifying and enlarging audiences.
